RK PSG 650 PVC Shrink Sleeve Glueing Machine
Seams printed shrink film into finished sleeves at up to 120 metres a minute.
Printed film in, finished sleeve out
The RK PSG 650 takes a printed roll of PVC shrink film, folds it into a tube, runs a line of adhesive down the overlap and seals the seam. What comes off the rewind is a continuous flattened sleeve ready for the cutting machine and then the shrink tunnel. The PSG 650 runs first in a shrink sleeve line. The RK PSC 320 runs second and cuts the seamed web into individual sleeves.
Film width goes to 650 mm, which covers full-body sleeves for one litre and two litre bottles as well as multi-up layouts for small jars and caps. The unwind takes rolls to ø600 mm on a 3 inch multi-bladder air shaft. An imported ultrasonic edge scanner guides the web, and a powder brake working against a load cell holds tension steady as the roll diameter drops, so the fold stays in the same place from the first metre to the last.
Seam quality decides whether a sleeve survives the shrink tunnel. The PSG 650 dispenses solvent or adhesive through a peristaltic pump driven by a stepper motor, so the flow rate tracks line speed from 1 to 120 m/min. Change the speed and the dose changes with it. The fluid never touches a pump body, only the inside of a replaceable rubber tube, which keeps cleaning down to a tube swap and stops solvent from attacking pump internals.
Rewinding runs on a cantilever shaft with an independent torque motor for tension, so an operator slides the finished ø700 mm roll off the end without a crane or a second person. The whole machine runs off a 1 HP three phase main motor on a Schneider or Inovance variable frequency drive.
RK Label Printing Machinery Pvt. Ltd. has built label and packaging converting machines in Ahmedabad, Gujarat since 1995 and exports to 23+ countries including the USA, UAE, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.
Key Features
Stepper driven pump matches glue flow to line speed anywhere from 1 to 120 m/min.
Runs full-body sleeves for large bottles and multi-up layouts for small packs.
Edge scanner keeps the film centred so the seam lands in the same place every metre.
Unwind tension holds as roll diameter falls, which stops stretch marks and seam drift.
One operator slides the finished roll off the shaft without lifting gear.
Grip the core along its full length so heavy rolls do not slip at start-up.
Adhesive touches nothing but a replaceable rubber tube, so cleaning is a tube change.
1 HP three phase motor on a Schneider or Inovance drive for smooth speed control.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the PSG 650 and the other Shrink Sleeve Machines machines.
It folds printed shrink film into a tube and seals the overlap, turning flat printed film into a continuous sleeve. The sleeve is then cut to length and shrunk onto the pack.
